How can I be prepared to take a life insurance exam? Get a life insurance quote!

To get the best results, here are some suggestions on "prepping" for a life insurance health screening, blood and/or urine test:

  1. Schedule the appointment for the morning (not at the end of a long stressful day).
  2. If you prefer a male or female examiner, please let it be known. Accomodations might be made.
  3. If you have a history of problems associated with giving blood samples, please let it be known when you schedule the appointment.
  4. If you are a large person, be sure the examiner has a large blood pressure cuff.
  5. Avoid strenuous work or exercise during the twenty-four hour period prior to the exam -- strenuous activities increase the possibility of excess protein in your liver -- which is unfavorable for the exam.
  6. Fast for a period of twelve to fourteen hours prior to an examination, allowing the digestive process to be completed, and liver functions to get back to normal. Fasting for twelve hours before an exam may also lower your cholesterol.
  7. Avoid alcoholic beverages for a minimum of twelve hours prior to the examination.
  8. Limit coffee and smoking for at least an hour prior to the examination.
  9. Drink a glass of water an hour before the exam to facilitate the obtaining of a urine specimen.
  10. Have available the names and addresses of any physicians or clinics you may have visited.
  11. Avoid getting shot or stabbed during the prior forty-eight hour period. Avoid illegal drugs for at least ten years before the examination. (A little sense of humor thrown in.)
  12. Try to get a good night's sleep, and be relaxed for the exam.

PGA Financial has no intent to generate interest in any particular life insurance company or specific policy, but rather to inform and educate you on the general concept -- after which, if you are interested, a broker at PGA Financial will be glad to research companies that offer such plans, get you a quote and assist you in making a choice. If you do become interested and obtain a policy, the broker would be compensated by the insurance company.
